And the ball starts rolling again.. - July 2, 2014

Yummy yummy yummy in the tummy tummy tummy!  Asa's favorite thing to say while he shovels food fist after fist is "yum yum."  🐷  We were trying to teach him how to say his main oncologist's name tonight.  How warped is our life?!

Texas Children's Hospital broke the silence today and I spent too much of the day on the phone juggling schedules and info with them.  Asa goes in first thing in the morn to have a mandatory sedated hearing test and echocardiogram before the next round of chemo.  Rats!  A Thursday again in the med center.  😂 This, Lord willing and the creek don't rise, will be followed by port placement Monday afternoon.  We are told that chemo will not be Monday, but scheduled later in week.  Without checking the phone's caller ID history and counting the emails flying back and forth, I think we have this all ironed out.  I do not know how doctors get anything done.  Asa will not get to eat past 2:30am and please pray he doesn't scream all the way to TCH in the morn.  They want him to be tired and calm when he gets there.  A starving toddler?!?  Go figure.

Apart from praying that I set aside my dark humorous cynicism before tomorrow, please do pray for our sanity and that Asa be calm and things on the home-front stay calm during these trips to the med center.  Please pray that Asa stay well.  Several of us have this rotten cold that lingers and I have coughed up more than a lung today. Asa needs to be cold-free before middle of next week.  Please pray for port placement and the anesthesia.  Because they moved placement to next week, our fav surgeon, Dr. V, will be back from vacation and will do the procedure.

Thanks today for silly baby and Asa's first shower after 6 months.  Spared you shower pics on public forum, but they're cute.  Asa now weighs in at a whopping 19.6 lbs.  Headed toward the goal! Grateful to have details somewhat settled regarding procedures and great docs that tolerate all our questions and concerns and my hissy fit about two possible sedations. Thankful for hubby and great company that flexes so I don't have to drive to med center alone.  Life is stressful enough without that factor.  Thanks to kid who made dinner while I frantically grocery shopped so that we would be ready for tomorrow and so that I could avoid the Fourth crowd.  And, yes, chickens.  🐥🐥🐥Happy to have new ones.  Yes, we need a hole in our head.
