Yet more food adventures. Not. - May 27, 2014

Feeding frenzy.  Not that we got much of anything in the child's mouth, but we tried.  Today it was cantaloupe and cottage cheese, chicken and rice and squash. Asa managed a few grains of rice and them urped it up with his Bactrim.  Are we having fun yet?!  Realized today that some of the resistance may be due just to lack of appetite due to chemo or taste buds bothered by chemo.  The problem arises in that you can't force a toddler to eat, but boy are toddlers happy to finger-paint with their food.

Obviously, please be in prayer that Asa would eat.  Calories.  Especially things with calories.  Pray that he keep things down.  Even though he seems better after chemo, he still seems a bit nauseous occasionally.  His weekly meds make that worse.  Please pray that Asa's counts stay up after this past chemo round.  Zero germies. We are praying and hoping for minimal drop this go round.  We'd all appreciate prayers for upcoming tumor removal surgery, that it would be uneventful, that it would successfully get all the remaining cancer, and that recovery time would be minimal, that Asa would live up to his middle name as it tells us that "Yahweh heals." Mom and Asa at home makes life always easier.  Prayers for other friends and family we know living through harder times with cancer.  Cancer is just a very, very stinky side of the fall.  We are truly broken in so many ways and in need of a Healer.

Thanks today to all my little helpers, for provision in the chaos.  Thanks for friends and fun in the deluge, even though errands are not fun.  Grateful for provision of good docs, access to good medical care and God's continued provision in the middle of the mess. Thankful for our sweet home health nurse.
