Feeling puny. Please pray. - June 13, 2014

Well, Asa wasn't too puny to not eat his share of guacamole and sour cream.  The kid knows what is good.  Today was eventful in that Asa ran a low grade fever and still is.  If that fever hits 100.4, the magic number that is considered a "fever," we have to take him in.  So we monitor as it mostly lingers at about 99.4 and we listen to a tired, grumpy baby.  Really no explanation and otherwise, Asa seems fine.  He sometimes will be a bit warm after chemo days, but he didn't have chemo this week.  Thankfully his neutrophil numbers are reasonable right now, so he has some immune system.  Regardless, you don't mess with fever in a cancer patient.  It requires hospitalization above 100.4.

Obviously, please pray this goes away and does not escalate.  It is not of concern in terms of surgery unless it gets worse or there are other symptoms.  Please pray that Asa would feel better and sleep well tonight to shake whatever it is.  Pray for wisdom for surgical team.  We clearly need to move forward with tumor removal, but we need Asa in good shape.  Please continue to pray for our friend, Caroline, who is also feeling puny during treatments and for our little nephew who fell and bonked head and was knocked out today on vacation with some of our kids.

Thanks today for house and dinner helpers while I dealt with puny baby.  Grateful for prayer warriors and encouragers who carry us through these moments.  We've had a lot of moments lately it seems.
