Well, until today have never seen one of my kids refuse to dig into a smash cake. But leave it to Asa! Asa turned one today, a big milestone after all we've been through. We celebrated with a grill out with family and cake. Haven't done presents yet because Asa got too sleepy. He's pretty set in his ways about bedtime, so I gave him a bath and popped him into bed. Sleeping birthday boy.
Please be in prayer as we handle these next few weeks. Yes, pray for Asa's health, but also the rest of us as we juggle care and activities. We need to stay well during camp and vacations and regular work schedules for older kids. Asa still is slightly neutropenic, though that is improving. In the meantime, germs stay far away. Pray for our clinic and surgeon visits next week, that all would be wise. Pray for endurance as we enter this last longer leg of necessary surgical treatment. None of us relish hospital time.
Thanks today for crazy household projects, time with family, Asa in the lap. Grateful for safe trips, burgers, chips and dip, and even silly uneaten cake.
