Pie, pie, and more pounds - July 1, 2014

Disclaimer:  Yes, this pic includes a shot of Asa's glorious battle scar 15 days after surgery.  I didn't ask my girls this time.  I just posted it for all you medical folks or those of you who are into that sort of thing. It's kind of cool and not too gross any more.  Supposedly it's the same cut you get with a liver transplant.  Truly amazing how God made the body to heal so quickly.

Yes, Asa continues to put on poundage. We are aiming for 20 lbs before chemo and he's filling out and climbing steadily daily, starting to look like our boy again instead of a starving orphan child. Now if the head of red hair would return, it'd be perfect.  He still very much has chemo fuzz except for those few combover locks that have held on for dear life throughout.   Thank you for your faithfulness to pray for him all these months.  It is a joy to see your prayers answered.

Please do keep praying for next two chemos.  We still have not gotten "the call," but we are okay with that as our family is still battling this miserable cold.  Asa acted like he had it several days back, but he's not gotten sick like others of us have. Please continue to pray that this stays at bay and that the rest of us would get over it.  I think I should be grateful that from Feb to June we stayed pretty germ free, but right now I'm wishing my own T-cells would kick in and beat this virus.

Thanks today for strawberry pie, even though Asa thinks it's fun play dough.  Grateful for girls who bounced baby so I could catch up on paperwork.  Our kitchen table looks like a paper  between medical bills, school planning, and some outstanding paperwork from the twins' adoption that we are finally filing.  Thankful for A/C and that it now works downstairs and we aren't sweating every time we turn on the oven, which is a lot in this house.  Grateful today for sweet email from Wood Group CEO. We are very grateful to God for your kindness and extraordinary generosity.  God never shows up short and has yet again shown up $.10 ahead.  (There's a story there.  Ask my hubby.)
