These pics were actually taken yesterday, but I didn't have them until after posting. Asa's friend, John, came to visit with a pile of friends. Fun! Asa's weight is progressing quite well, weighing in at over 19 lbs today. He's starting to fatten up a bit. If we can continue at this pace and not be too stunted by chemo, he might actually look like a big Barreras boy again soon.
Still no time for port insertion and chemo. Just expecting that call soon. I know they are in no huge rush, but we would like to wrap up before school starts again. Would also love to be without a cold, too. Asa faring well, but his mother is miserable with it. Would like to start chemo with the whole house on the full mend. Please pray for appropriate timing. It's hard because we are doing so much normal now and Asa is functioning like a normal kid again and them you think again and realize we are still somewhat in this battle. Please pray for Asa's uncle, Mark, as he started chemo today, though we celebrate his great prognosis.
Thanks today for giggles and belly laughs and pink icing. Lots of paperwork and moving forward. Grateful for A/C and fun visits, even if they're too short. Yay for great medical reports, knowing that God's in control one way or another. He's got this and each of us and even the crazy circumstances of the world we live in.
