Today I had to pleasantly remind myself to be grateful I am not in a third world country and that I have access to basic healthcare. I had to say this to myself about every five minutes after getting up before the chickens to be on time to Asa's appointment. I recited it to myself as I paced the floor with a singing neutropenic toddler for an hour and a half waiting to draw just two vials of blood. Waiting. Waiting. But, good news is that we are clear for MRI tomorrow and neutrophil counts are rising, hopefully by Thursday enough to do next chemo. MRI and CT scan in morning. Please pray that Asa not be nauseous from anesthesia. He tends to be very grumpy.
This is crazy week. We should have prelim answers regarding MRI by Wed. We will have a real sit down with docs on Thursday. At least that's the plan. If counts are sufficient, we will do inpatient chemo #4 approximately Thursday through Saturday, assuming the inn is not full and there is a bed for Asa. Please pray for great wisdom for docs, sanity for us as we drive, calm tummy for Asa with anesthesia, and sleep. Pray that Asa still stay germ free in this period of count recovery and the rest of us. Just don't breathe or spit on us. 😉 Please pray for our friend, Caroline, who is in ICU tonight with high fevers and side effects from her treatment.
Thanks today for short trips to clinic, even if it took a while, we were out by noon. Grateful for sofa giggles and smeared cookies and dancing to Sinatra at recital.
