At home with kitty - June 12, 2014

That furry thing in the pic is called a "ccccat."  Can't even imitate the guttural "c" sound the kid makes.  Today was home and grocery day.  Asa ate toast and crackers and Blue Bell successfully.  Am truly thinking some of our issues have been taste buds bothered by chemo.  He's asking for all sorts of food, but we are not successful at feeding him everything and he can not understand if there's something he can't handle yet.

Per previous posts, surgery is Monday at 11am.  Pray that we all stay well and endure.  We are physically tired from the long haul and have a bit more to finish out Asa's treatment.  Pray for doctors and teams involved, that God would send us good and the correct nurses, especially early on next week.  Pray that we advocate well for Asa (or don't have to, which would be miraculous).  Pray that Asa nurses well through the surgery aftermath and doesn't need supplementary feeding or nutrition.  Pray that we sleep well throughout the ordeal.  Please pray for those who hold down the homefront, that kids coming home would stay well, that it be an uneventful week for them.  And pray for friend, Caroline, who has a sore throat and earache, but is doing great with treatment.

Thanks today for porch time, snuggles, and toddler helpers.  Grateful for my faithful daughter who covers me all over the place and endures boring things most teens wouldn't like.  Thankful for drivers and sons who work hard at home and work and budget. Happy to hear music in the house and joy in composition when they could be distracted by other things.  Grateful for encouragers in the storm and words, words that stir the pot.
