To market. To market. To take Daddy… - June 27, 2014

Long day with Asa today.  Went to the Woodlands for an appointment for Daddy.  Asa seemed to enjoy being out and about, different scenery, new foods.  It was a big change of pace compared to our neutropenic lockdown the past several months. We are all dead dog tired tonight after being gone all day.

We have not heard from the hospital as to our scheduled port insertion and chemo. Had hoped to hear from them today, but didn't get a call.  They must be coordinating still.  Please be in prayer that we stay well and that the last few steps are uneventful.  A port will allow Asa a lot of toddler normalcy.  Saw a little girl in town today with a picc line and even though I've seen them, it just confirmed to me that we don't need to go down that road with a busy toddler.  Please pray for all our family as we wrap up the last of the summer.  Extended family is also still mourning loss of our sweet brother-in-law/uncle and great-grandma is in quickly declining health as well and another step-sibling/cousin's husband going in for chemo in his own battle against cancer.  A lot going on.

Thanks today again for normal, another chance to be a part of the real world.  Grateful that Asa is eating.  Scale creeping up a bit, trying and actually consuming new foods!  Thanks for my bigs that covered meals and dishes and child supervision and endless games of Uno.  You are appreciated and loved in all this chaos.  Thanks for good appointment for Dad today and welcomed lunch.
