Screaming back to the funny farm - July 3, 2014

Back to Texas Children's today for yet another EKG.  These are standard precautionary procedure for certain types of chemo.  And for us that standard precaution involved starving a very unhappy toddler from 2:30am until the procedure, walking the hall at home with him from 3:30am to 7am, transporting him to hospital, checking him in, covering him in wires, giving Asa sleepy meds and ludicrously expecting him to calm down. Fun morning. EKG was great.  Pic is of Asa playing with you rocket on ceiling while trying to be calm and get sleepy.  Other pic of his enjoying the brass band in the lobby at Methodist.

After a large number of additional phone calls coming in today, we are scheduled for port placement on Monday, clinic visit, hearing test, and chemo on Tuesday.  Please pray Asa to stay cold free.  Though we seem to be on mend here, Asa needs to be  germ free.  We will act very precautionary and postpone if necessary.  Please pray for wisdom in this regard.  Pray that our other kiddos stay healthy, too. Quarantine grows weary and kids are tired. Please pray for our friend, Caroline.  She turns 15 this weekend and heads back in next week for tougher chemo. Tough, tough week ahead.

Thanks today that we could get appointments streamlined some, that Asa didn't cry in car all the way there and back.  Grateful for nice lunch on way home with coupons a friend shared.  Thanks for dinner to cover kids next week.  Glad for kids that held down fort today.  Asa was thrilled with the brass band.  He loves music so.  Happy for eyelashes and funny new head fuzz and ravenous appetites.  Now to sleep.
