Update!! - Sept 7

Asa update.   While Asa has been running circles around us, eating everything in sight, getting scolded for trying to put his hand in the VCR, general toddler stuff, taking full advantage of his bald cuteness, we have not learned much more on the medical front.  The lead oncologists are taking a wait and see approach.  The liver team meets 9/11 where there will be a full discussion of Asa's case, but for now, we wait.  We return to clinic at the end of the month, unless decided otherwise, when they will again run blood work and see where things stand.

In the meantime, please do continue to be in prayer for Asa, that we could see an end to the lingering mess, not just be in limbo.  Pray for wisdom for his cancer team.  We would appreciate your prayer as we as a family adjust slowly back to some norms and essentially just sit around drooling after so many months of stress factors.  Please pray that God would show us what to do with all this experience, how He would have us move forward.  Our friend, Caroline, could use prayer.  She's been home, but she's back at TCH tonight with an infection. Pray for their family.  She really needs a miraculous break through.

Magnolia Bible Church will be having a blood drive in honor of Asa on Sunday afternoon, Sept 21. You can sign up to donate at giveblood dot org. Give us a shout if you want more info.  Asa has had several blood transfusions during his treatments, as well as platelets. Others, like Caroline, are daily dependent upon such gifts.  We are forever grateful to those who have donated in the past.  It's truly life to many critically ill patients.

Thanks today for family time and life apart from cancer lock down.  Our family needed the reprieve.  Thrilled to see Asa walking steadily now and reaching milestones that he missed.  Thanks for big kids, college, and those who hold down our fort.  Happy to go to the TCH cancer center art show today.  Mia had a piece in the show.  It was fun!  Grateful for those who give so cancer families can have fun and normalcy.  Thankful to get to go to church with the family.
