No outside window view today, but dancing with Daddy to the Sound of Music while we wait in our cubicle. Wait. Wait. Wait. It's what you do at clinic. Another parent told me that before I arrived. Gospel truth. Clinic=Wait. This week the good news is no more electrolyte meds!! Yay! No more spit, gag, barf medicine sessions!
Blood work today let us know that Asa is very neutropenic, meaning his neutrophil counts (white count) are very low, so everyone steer clear, wash hands, and no passing junk, you hear. Like I tell my kids - don't touch anything or anybody or breathe. 😉Also, part of our waiting today was on blood. Asa's blood counts were also low and required a transfusion. All this is a normal reaction to chemo. We will return to clinic on Monday for bloodwork to make sure counts are high enough for MRI on Tuesday. We are due for next chemo on Thursday if Asa's white counts are moving back uphill well.
Please be in prayer that we all stay virus and disease free. Pray that Asa's immune system pick back up again quickly. Definitely pray that Asa decide to be accommodating in his car seat. Though this is not earth shattering or health related, 3 trips to the med center next week in rush hour will be a new form of torture and challenge our already questionable mental health if he doesn't decide to be enamored with his seat or at least distracted. Definitely pray that his tumor continue to shrink correctly. Please pray for God's great wisdom for surgeons and transplant team as all sit at table next week to decide what to do with Asa's liver. And please pray for my sister in law. We are all figuring out how to simply breathe without Clancy.
Thanks today for not being in rush hour on way in, for lunch provided. Thanks for my spaghetti-making kid. Big hugs to transport help. My extra driver returns tomorrow and drivers test for next one scheduled for 28th (don't ask). Thanks to friends who have walked hard moments and love us well. Grateful for kind nurses and pumpkin bread and decent movies.
