Looking from the other side of the window today. A nice day at home with the family made eventful by Asa trying to pull off his central line bandage and parents having to gingerly replace. Tony is a patient man. Whee! We did it. After 67 days in the hospital, it's not like we've not had adequate tutoring. We'd send you pics of our handiwork, but we will spare you. I've had zero aspirations in my lifetime toward a medical career, but this experience has been a crash course in a lot of things, things you never want to know.
Pray that Asa's rash around his bandage would clear and he'd stop pestering his bandages. He has such sensitive skin and bandages of all types really bother him. Thursday morning we go back to clinic for chemo and stay overnight, prayerfully discharged Friday. Pray that this chemo be as uneventful as the last. Prayers for little to no side effects. No barfing. Zero fever. No body aches. Hair? Well, he's lost most already. πΆPray that his virus stays at bay, totally dormant as his counts drop. Please note that over the next two weeks we may be cautious with both visitors and kids' activities as Asa's immune system drops. Don't stay away, just be aware. It's a season. As always, please continue to pray for the bottom line, that this tumor be gone, that it shrink from the portal vein. Pray for us as we enter the hospital, that we would have great intentional interaction with staff, be blessed with great docs and nurses. Pray for our nerves and the kids
as we return. It's hard to go back.
Thanks today for fun visitors, eggs on the porch with overflowing coffee and breakfast snatching cats. Beats hospital food hands down, everything about it. Thanks for job flex, friends and birthday escapades. Happy happy to Andy today! We are now down to only 4 teens in the house. Oh my! π π that's an Andy face. He's been making faces at and for us since he came out with a bang at birth. Asa reminds me so much of him. Thanks for Groban Jr being a part of our fam. We'd love him even off key.
