Quiet Days - May 13, 2014

Quiet days that seem almost normal with Asa.  If we didn't have to give meds or flush lines, it might just really be normal toddler life with sticky hands crawling around chasing the dog, getting into cabinets, or filling britches.

Appreciate your prayer as we approach the next few weeks.  I think we are coming down to our reality after spending the last week dealing with extended family doings.  We are working to get our ducks in a row on home front not knowing how the next few months may play out.  Please pray that Asa's tumor shrink from portal vein.  Please pray for all teams involved.  They need godly wisdom, even if many don't all acknowledge where that wisdom came from.  Pray for our positive interactions with them.  We have worked very close with our oncology docs in particular and are quite fond of them. The next few weeks we will be dealing with new teams in addition, no matter the verdict. Pray for Asa's electrolytes.  We are hoping to rid ourselves of meds this week if they've stabilized and I'm sure the resident dishwashers are tired of cleaning and boiling med syringes.  I'm tired of sticky, regurgitated, drooled Bactrim.

Thanks today for surprise dinner.  Yum!!  Asa loved strawberries.  Not sure that's a legit fruit for before age one, but nor is Blue Bell and that never stopped us!  Just thankful he showed an interest.  Thankful he took meds, too. Grateful for normal activity days where I am serenaded by Sinatra on guitar, edit biology papers, and gut storage sheds in prep for college kids.
