Cheerio - May 10, 2014

Worked very hard to get to those Cheerios.  Anything to feed himself.  Even took his meds today with minimal balk.  Prayers and progress!!!  Maybe he will increase weight this week.

Continued prayers as we dive into the countdown before our next imaging.  This MRI will determine if tumor has shrunk off the portal vein.  If it has, they remove tumor.  If it has not, Asa goes on liver transplant list.  They assure us he would receive a liver quickly, but we don't want to visit that option.  Continue to pray that chemo is effective, chasing away any floating evil cells and that Asa's protein markers in blood move from 399 to 0 (remember we started out at that indicator being over 51000).  Please also pray that Asa's central line that goes to his bloodstream (port for chemo) not get broken again and that it would stay clear. It's been a bit fussy lately and we are on repair #3.  Also pray for Asa's skin. He's so fair that we are having minor issues with it healing well and he just reacts miserably to some tapes and such.

Thanks today for fun outing with littles and rollerblade escapades and God's faithful provision for our needs and even wants. Grateful tomorrow to have all my kids under one roof briefly, most tonight, just sad that it is for a funeral. That means a lot to a momma when kids are grown and one is ill. Please pray as we grieve the loss of sweet Uncle Clancy, especially for my sister in law, Amie.  I know it's hard when service is over and everyone goes home.  And selfishly pray that Asa stay germ free in all that big people affair.  Pray that God work in our hearts and hearts of others as we gather.
