Staypuff Marshmallow Man - March 17, 2014

I think we should affectionately call every other day "deflation day." From these lovely photos you can see the progression from Staypuff Marshmallow man or a bad impression of Chubby Bunny down to a still very inflated child that looks a bit more like Asa and is peeping at us a bit from a sedated state.

Thanks for your prayers. We had another baby step improvement day today. Respirations better, weaning off of help a bit each day. Eating more than I produce. Yay for more poop. And tho it looks awful, successfully shed poundage of fluid weight. Peeping out at us under sedation tonight. Heart rates good. Fever needs to go and stay gone. Blood work taken for virus count today with results coming. Chemo plans to be discussed more tomorrow and tomorrow is treat the virus inflation day yet again. Up. Down. Up. Down.

Thankful today for friends' smiling faces and good food and an even-keeled, keep up the good work report on my brother in law. Thanks for chance to pray with grandmother of a boy in unit this morn. New attending docs were uneventful so far and our head oncologist comes on rotation tomorrow. Yay! Planned opportunity to see our other kids this week and visit with friends.

Pray for zero virus for Asa. Gone gone gone!!! We can do nothing until it's gone. Fevers need to go. Need big wisdom on what direction to go with chemo. Continued prayer to wean off intubation at correct time, not too soon. Pray for our endurance. It goes from boring to very stressful and back again over and over. Pray that in our lulls and in the stress, that God would use us as He sees fit. Again, huge thanks for your prayers!!
