Extubation turns into a nightmare - March 20, 2014

Kind of one of those days. Asa was extubated! Yay! No more big tubes, but left in their wake is a grouchy, grouchy kid, thus the pic. I got one faint smile this evening. Not so much crying, just fussy fretting.

Good news! Decision today by chemo docs to MRI tomorrow with suspicion that tumor may have already shrunk enough to remove. We had really had this idea in the back of our minds that God kept pressing and today they decided this would be a good plan. 😀 If tumor is ready to go, they will plan to remove next week. If not, we are still to do the special non systemic chemo. And, of course, please pray that the virus LEAVE NOW!!! Virus titers tested on Monday again.

Thankful today to see and hug my kids, sister and brother in law, and my parents. Not sure the kids knew what to think of their IV laden extubated crabby brother.. They went to zoo while I stayed at hospital. Thankful for good food and commiserating with sweet friends who are having to camp out here in this lovely facility and see God work in their picture. Fun in the midst of the chaos!

Please pray that Asa's poor throat heal quickly from intubation. He's struggling a bit this evening coming off the sedation drugs, just fidgety. Pray that he does well with anesthesia for MRI tomorrow. He's been know to be nauseated and cross. Pray that he returns to nursing well after the MRI. And that Tony and I sleep a bit in the midst of this
