Another day, another large lost quantities of brain cells at the hospital. As Asa and I mark time here, we get to visit with the nurses, enjoy a few fun visitors, eat a few too many Oreos, and burn off those calories by sitting. Whee! But, we did get home health on board today. Just still trying to convince the attending nurse practitioner that we don't belong here any more and that if you leave us here much longer we are going to start carrying on conversations with inanimate objects. She promises escape on Monday. I'm not sure what defines a promise in a hospital.
Please continue to pray for the real medical issues still involved, like this liver tumor that's still present enough to keep us in and out of here. It needs to shrink off the portal vein. Pray that we get electrolytes down to nothing instead of the current two that Asa still needs to get. Pray that we determine the best ways to feed Asa. He's nursing well but he's needing supplementation because of the physical up and down nature of all the procedures he goes through. Pray that we sleep and stay well. Pray that he cuts this tooth that's making him crabby. That prayer is for me.
Thanks today for visitors that were a lot of fun. Thanks that there is real progress toward going home in terms of learning equipment and training to care for these lines and ports and such. Thanks for those who help feed at home and keep some sanity there. Thanks that even though chocolate promotes zits, it and coffee also promote sanity.
