Until Monday - April 17, 2014

Locked in the cage and keys held until Monday. Evidently home health goes on strike on holiday weekends so they have to keep us here until they return. Asa has to have weekly care for his NG tube and dressings changed on his central line, but not on weekends or holidays.

Pics today feature the overly active monkey locked in his cage sporting his new little black vest contraption created to hold his central line out of reach and pull iv tubes to back. And as you can see, as a result, the nurse can take blood from his line while he plays and crawls around. Poor nurse!

Please continue to pray for the same. We are weaning down to oral only meds for electrolytes, thus far successful. Asa needs continued prayer that tumor shrinks away from his portal vein. We need prayer for endurance, sanity, and sleep. Everyone is very tired.

Thanks for good coffee today, real stuff. Thanks for Annalisa who pleasantly endures and eats hospital food without grumbling. Thanks for maintenance for a hospital toilet that needs daily maintenance. Thanks for my parents who have endured to great exhaustion and heard about wanting to build snowmen to insanity and have surely been pushed the rest of the way over by drivers training. You deserve sainthood.
