Day 5 of 2nd round of Chemo and still little to no side effects - Praise the Lord! - April 11, 2014

Today Asa was just hanging with some entertaining monkeys bearing gifts obtained early dawn from Perks. (See pic.) It was fun. Tonight we are being serenaded by a jackhammer and creaking truck sounds outside our window. Yes, you can hea...r it nine stories up. It is a hospital. 'Nuff said. Last night was enough drama alone. Asa's milk drip pump got clogged, which was minor, but followed by a 1am discovery that his central line tubing was cracked on one portion. That was followed by something akin to a middle of the night fix a flat repair that was a three stage, wait hours between, wake everyone up again and stand over your bed in blue gowns and annoy the baby process. Line repaired. Still looking for a good solution for toddler wear and tear on lines when tethered to an iv pole while climbing all over room. Maybe I'll put up another post for you technical peeps showing line repair and those tumor pics I keep promising.

Prayers for weekend sanity at the hospital and for the food to grow on us. Still waiting for the stars to align and all health teams to be as convinced as I am that we need to escape this joint before next chemo. They want 3 virus clear nasal swabs to let us out of our room to even ride the halls in a red wagon. I think they want a right arm and an untold sum of $ to discharge us. Pray for all the normal listing of requests. Virus to be gone with zero signs and not show up as Asa's counts drop after chemo. Pray for kidneys to kick in all the way or these folks to figure out how to regulate the slightly off elements from something other than an iv pole or meds that Asa regularly barfs back at them that must not be for human consumption. Pray that tumor shrinks the right way. Asa's tummy is nice and squishy now. Tumor not obvious as it was. Yay for tummies fit for raspberries. Thanks for prayers as we deal with staff. Needed those today. Nurses are my heroes. I'll leave it at that.

Thanks for coffee and a kid that decided chemo nursing strike was over. Thanks for those helping feed my crowd, parents and Tony holding down fort. Thanks for work flexibility, friends encouraging sanity enough to complete paperwork today hyped up on coffee. Thanks to Annalisa the baby entertainer!
