Change of staff and day of recovering from chemo procedures went well. Last night we struggled with fever and struggled keeping fever down. Special surgeon gave us a big name for Asa's struggles of past few days - I'll spare you. It's just a big name for the body's recovery battle when a tumor begins dying, resulting in fever, some nausea, and body aches. All that to say Asa is fairly normal. He had this type of chemo and now he has the symptoms. Whee! We liked our new attending doc, great communicator, sad to see some excellent docs we've come to love personally shift off of service.
Please pray as we have more staff change tomorrow. Tomorrow we get results of virus counts. Praying for zero. We are still struggling with electrolyte balance. Still have fevers, though those are expected to lift by end of week or before. Pray for before. Pray as docs look at next chemo plan. Lots of variables out there. Pray for God to give Dr. Heczey wisdom. Pray that this tumor just shrivel up so that it's quickly and easily removable. We would welcome a quick miracle so we can go home.
Tomorrow holds an ultrasound to take a look at zapped tumor. Tony got to see a video of the chemo zapping procedure today and was thrilled. We also have to have a kidney function test tomorrow to make sure all okay for next chemo.
Thanks today for parents who endure the day in day out. Thanks to Dr. Mary who has blessed us with her brilliance and gentle and quiet spirit and well honed negotiating skills and her love for Asa. Thanks for IV Tylenol and whoever created it. Thanks today for new opportunities to talk to people who walk in our door who just think they came in to do their job...
